Hi! Welcome to White Collar Homestead! Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be self-sufficient? Grow your own stuff? Do you have questions about the hows and whys? Or does it just interest you to know there are people out there that actually want to do this? Well, you are in the right place! We are a husband and wife team with a homestead that happen to have “white-collar” jobs. We have a beautiful 22 acre homestead in the mountains of East Tennessee. With this homestead we aim to be as self-sufficient as possible. Everyday is a learning adventure and we want share every bit of it with you! That means the good, the bad and sometime the very ugly!
Our living tenants include chickens, bees and 3 canines. Additionally, we have an herb garden and a veggie garden that we hope will produce as much fresh garden to table food as possible. Along with some funny stuff and general information, you will find recipes and how to’s, homemade products and sometimes even a little hack or two to make life just a little easier! Since we love to improve the homestead as much as possible ourselves, I will be including our building projects, sometimes our tearing down projects and everything in between. You will see what we do, how we do it and why we do it. Because there are sometimes better ways of doing things, you will also learn how not to do it, too! Or at least a different way to do it. There is always something to learn and I aim to learn it all.
